The service combines precise adjustment with careful cleaning, fret care and a deep three-stage body polish where the instrument’s finish is suitable. The aim is a guitar that feels comfortable, stays in tune reliably and inspires confidence when you play.

A setup built around the player
Before making adjustments, I assess the guitar’s current condition and ask how you play. A light-touch player seeking low action needs a different approach from a heavy strummer, a down-tuned player or someone using an unusual string gauge. Relief, action and intonation are therefore considered as one connected system.
Precision neck, action and intonation adjustment
I measure the neck and playing geometry carefully, then adjust the truss rod, bridge and saddles where appropriate. Nut-slot height, pickup height, tuner security and general hardware condition are also checked. The final settings balance comfort, tone, tuning stability and the condition of the frets.
If fret wear or another fault prevents the result you want, I will explain it before carrying out any additional work. Fret levelling, replacement parts and electrical repairs are quoted separately.
Detailed fret and fingerboard care
The frets receive a detailed clean and polish to improve smoothness during bends and vibrato. The fingerboard is cleaned and conditioned where suitable for its wood and finish. Delicate, lacquered or unusual materials are treated according to their individual requirements.
Three-stage deep body polish
As part of the Full Setup, the guitar body receives a careful three-stage polishing process where the finish is suitable. The stages clean the surface, refine minor dullness or light marks, and produce a final protective shine. The process and intensity are always matched to the instrument.
Matte, satin, aged, delicate or damaged finishes are not treated like modern gloss finishes. Where polishing could change the intended appearance or risk damage, I use an appropriate finish-safe alternative and explain this to you.
Final playing test and setup report
After restringing, I stretch the strings, retune the instrument and check the setup across the full neck. Chords, bends, upper-fret access, tuning stability and amplified performance are tested where appropriate. You receive a record of the work and key measurements for future reference.
