Guitar Repair by Post UK

Need a guitar or bass repaired but you’re not near Nottingham? RG Guitar Tech offers UK-wide guitar repair by post from Nottingham, with careful assessment and clear communication before any work begins.

How guitar repair by post works

  1. Get in touch first. Tell me the instrument make and model, what is wrong, your tuning and the work you think it needs. Photos or a short video can help. Please wait for my reply before posting your instrument.
  2. Agree the quote and delivery. I’ll advise whether the job is suitable for a postal repair. If the instrument needs an in-person inspection before I can confirm the work, I’ll explain that. We’ll agree the repair, price, delivery arrangements and expected timescale before you send it.
  3. Pack and send securely. Once the booking is agreed, I’ll provide the delivery details and we can confirm a tracked, insured shipping method and the cost for sending and returning the instrument. Use a sturdy guitar case or protective packaging inside a strong outer box.
  4. Repair, check and return. I’ll carry out the agreed work, check the instrument and contact you if inspection reveals anything that changes the quote. I won’t proceed with extra chargeable work without your approval. We’ll confirm the return delivery arrangement before the instrument is sent back.

Repairs and setups available by post

I can assess a range of electric, acoustic and bass guitar work, including full setups, fret and buzzing problems, nut and bridge adjustments, tuning issues, pickup and electronics repairs, hardware replacement and other repair work. Some jobs may not be suitable to complete by post; I’ll let you know before you send anything.

A full guitar setup is £50. String changes start at £20. Other repairs are quoted individually after discussing the instrument and the fault. Delivery is arranged and priced separately, and the total cost will be agreed with you before work begins.

Before you post your guitar

  • Contact me first and wait for confirmation and delivery instructions.
  • Include your name and contact details with the instrument, plus a note describing the fault and agreed work.
  • Protect the headstock and instrument from movement inside the case or packaging. Use a strong outer carton with padding on all sides.
  • Agree the courier, tracking, insurance and return delivery cost with me before dispatch.

Ask about a postal repair

Send the instrument details, your location and a description of the problem. I’ll get back to you to discuss whether the repair can be handled by post and what the next steps would be.
